Housing Counseling Services (HCS)
A Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) or “Reverse Mortgage” allows eligible homeowners over the age of 62 to convert equity in their homes into a stream of income or a line of credit. In order to apply for a HECM all homeowners must first meet with a counselor to discuss the eligibility requirements, financial implications, and payment options of a HECM as well as alternative financing options.
