Catholic Charities Behavioral Health Services provides mental health treatment and community support to adults with mental illness. Board certified psychiatrists, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN’s), and Registered Nurses (RN’s) provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Individual and group counseling provided for anger management, grief and loss, and trauma issues. Community support services include mental health education, coping skills, co-occurring disorders counseling, relapse prevention strategies, assistance obtaining benefits and affordable housing, family support and education, health education, and crisis intervention. Anchor also has an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team for adults with severe mental illness who experience challenges with mobility and isolation. Anchor has supported housing and independent living and is certified to provide mental health services for the District of Columbia Department of Mental Health as a Core Service Agency (CSA). Anchor accepts public funding, Medicaid, Medicare, and state financed insurance.

Anchor Program particpants may also attend tje Double Trouble in Recovery Program-12-step NA/AA substances abuses recovery program for persons with mental illness and substance abuse challenges. Meetings offer a safe forum to discuss their psychiatric disabilities, medication, and substance abuse. Meetings Wednesday 1pm to 2pm.

Deaf/Hard of hearing clients referred to Deaf REACH for ASL assistance.

Application: Call to set up an intake. We accept Amerihealth,Trusted, Medstar, DC Medicaid, Medicare, Optimum (previously United Healthcare), and most CareFirst BlueCross/BlueShield insurance plans. We will verify your insurance coverage once you schedule an initial consultation appointment and provide you with information regarding any co-pays or deductible you might have. If we do not accept your insurance or if you don’t have insurance, you can still see one of our therapists and pay the appointment fee ($125/hour). Fees and co-pays are due at the time of service. We accept Visa and MasterCard.
