Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)

Organization: Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington

We have funding to assist low-income District residents facing housing emergencies. The program provides funding for overdue rent if a qualified household is facing eviction (including late costs and court fees). The Program also can assist with security deposits and first month’s rent for residents moving on an emergency basis.

ERAP for WRITs - WRITS are the last step of eviction, mailed from the Marshal’s office or given to a tenant in court. These are the most urgent of ERAP cases.
Application: To qualify for ERAP: Telephone intake occurs every Monday of the month. Phone lines are open from 10am-11am and we are able to accept the first 25 qualified applicants. Please, no walk-ins! Applicants with WRITS may call Mondays from 10:00-12:00 to secure the first available appointment.
