Vietnamese lawful permanent residents face major barriers in integrating into American culture and achieving U.S. citizenship, including limited English proficiency, illiteracy, low-income, lack of transportation, and cognitive disabilities.
We strive to promote immigrant integration through direct citizenship services for Vietnamese lawful permanent residents who do not otherwise have
access to citizenship services.
For example, BPSOS has provided culturally and linguistically relevant citizenship education and naturalization application assistance, equipping the Vietnamese lawful permanent resident community with the knowledge, skills, and assistance needed in order to successfully complete the naturalization process, become fully integrated U.S. citizens.
