Montgomery Avenue Women's Center is the only day shelter for homeless women in Montgomery County Maryland. The center seeks to help break the cycle of homelessness for women and to help them achieve self-sufficiency. 31% of our consumers are chronically homeless, and majority of our consumers come from the streets and emergency level shelters. The Montgomery Avenue Women’s Center is a unique day program to the most vulnerable women in the Rockville, Maryland community. The woman are usually faced with the challenge of being homeless, but through the Women’s Centers missing the program helps to empower each individual woman with access to supportive services and lifestyle options that can enhance her safety and well-being. The program is designed to help women become self-sufficient and includes daily course work, group sessions, counseling and life skills course. The Center provides women with a service environment that is clean, healthy, caring and pleasant, using case management and supportive services.
