Words Beats & Life
The Words Beats & Life Academy is a pre-vocational after-school Hip-Hop program primarily for youth ages 12-22 in Washington, DC. We engage students interested in Hip-Hop culture by cultivating an excitement for learning in our non-traditional classrooms. The Academy is focused on handing down the history, techniques and traditions of Hip-Hop, advancing the pursuit of a post-secondary education, nurturing and protecting a community of young artists, scholars and entrepreneurs, producing premiere events featuring young Hip-Hop artists in Washington, D.C. and to celebrate what is new about Hip-Hop and the people that produce it.
