ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSES
In collaboration with the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia, KCSC’s English as a Second Language classes offer students basic study of English grammar, diction, reading, and writing. Focus is on learning practical English language skills to help with day-to-day needs such as going to the post office or making reservations for doctors’ appointments. Classes are in the Fall, Spring, and Summer. You must register prior to class. Enrollment in class is only confirmed in-person. No pre-registrations accepted. During registration, students pay a $75 registration fee and take a placement exam.

CITIZENSHIP INTERVIEW PREPARATION CLASSES
The course focuses on helping students prepare for the naturalization test. Students study U.S. history and government for the civics portion of the test and practice sample verbal and written questions that are needed in the reading and writing portion of the test. Students will have the opportunity to practice their skills in a mock interview. KCSC has also developed a citizenship preparation booklet and audio cassettes for students to practice at home.

COMPUTER CLASSES
Job Readiness Computer Classes: Experienced computer instructors cover use of Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Participants also become familiar with how to conduct job search using the internet, learn advanced email skills, and understand how to use cloud-based services such as the Google Drive. Classes are conducted in English. (6-week program, Annandale location only)
