SENIOR ACADEMY (Silver Spring Only)
KCSC’s Senior Academy is a continuing education program for senior citizens. The program offers a variety of subjects to help seniors improve their proficiency in English and learn more about American culture. Classes include: English as a Second Language, Art, music, physical fitness, line dancing, and field trips are also offered to provide healthy and active extracurricular activities. A healthy Korean lunch and/or snack may be provided. Seniors will be able to expand their social circle and engage in active hobbies in order to have a healthy mind and body and be free of depression and loneliness. The program schedule at the Silver Spring Campus is Mondays from 11am to 12pm and Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm. The first day of class for each semester is announced through newspapers and radio.

BLUE BIRD HOME VISITATION SERVICE (VA ONLY)
KCSC’s Blue Bird Service pairs volunteers with seniors, who live alone or in nursing homes. Volunteers visit and socialize with seniors, read to them, or help with light housework or errands. Currently, the program is offered only in Annandale and Arlington. Volunteers come together for monthly meetings to share their experiences and quarterly supervision meetings for seminars and educational opportunities. All volunteers are welcome.
